Sydney Martin

Buddhist thought and philosophy is a primary influence on my way of thinking about
life and my art. My work reflects my attempts to exist harmoniously in the world. Through
making I explore how to live in such a way that I create more good than harm. I discuss
themes of developing a positive relationship with the natural world, sustainability, and
finding joy in living simply. I am working to minimize my physical impact by making my
own art media and using salvaged materials whenever possible.
